The Airbus production site in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) has just completed the construction of the last A380, the largest passenger plane from the European manufacturer.

And during the last test flight of this device, the pilots performed an original maneuver.

On Sunday, they drew a heart in the sky at an altitude of 30,000 feet,

Business Insider reports.

After leaving Hamburg Finkenwerder airport, this last test flight will have lasted nearly five hours.

"Nothing but love for the A380, as the last super jumbo to join our fleet takes off for a final test flight," Emirates wrote on Twitter, after discovering the design formed by the pilots.

An airplane that has become too heavy and too expensive

The MSN272 will join this airline's fleet, which has 115 aircraft, from this month of December.

Launched in 2005 by Airbus, the A380 had succeeded in dethroning the famous Boeing 747 by becoming the largest passenger plane in the world.

The European manufacturer ultimately sold only 251 aircraft of this type, making it one of the least sold Airbus aircraft.

The production of the A380 was stopped after finding the aircraft to be obsolete.

It has become too heavy and overpriced compared to other aircraft such as the twin-engine Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Airbus A350 XWB.

Despite everything, it was greatly appreciated by certain customers, in particular thanks to the services that airlines could offer due to its large volume.
