Two brothers aged 17 and 20 appeared before the criminal court of Digne-les-Bains (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) on Wednesday.

They were accused of having beaten a man in Saint-Maime (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) on January 24, 2018. The victim, their former stepfather, had been found guilty of violence against the mother of the defendants, indicates

He had also harassed and insulted his ex-girlfriend via SMS.

Ten days of ITT

The two brothers explained that they wanted to avenge their mother.

To do this, they lured the victim out of her home by attacking his motorcycle and his car.

Once out, the man was hit with, among other things, a baseball bat.

He was prescribed ten days of ITT.

"The day I saw him hit my mother, I hated him," said one of the respondents.

Neither the two young men, nor their lawyer, nor their stepfather were present during the trial.

The eldest of the defendants received a two-year prison sentence, including a suspended year, covered by his preventive detention.

Last June, the youngest was sentenced to eight months in prison, including three months.
