Tens of millions of college students flock to the job market, and these three industries lead the "autumn recruitment season"

The first wave of recruitment peak for college graduates in 2022-autumn recruitment has come to an end.

Compared with previous years, companies have expanded the recruitment scale of college students this year, but in the face of the rare recruitment demand, more than 60% of graduates are more enthusiastic about taking graduate or civil service examinations.

The "Autumn Recruitment Quotes for College Graduates in 2022" (hereinafter referred to as "Autumn Recruitment Quotes") recently released by the human resource service provider 51job The recruitment of 2022 graduates exceeds that of 2020 graduates, and 43% of employers’ recruitment of 2022 graduates reached the highest level in three years.

Yao Kai, director of the Global Science and Innovation Talent Development Research Center of Fudan University, told CBN that on the basis of 9.09 million in 2021, the number of college graduates in 2022 will reach the highest year in history, an increase of 1.67 million from 2021. It will pose certain challenges to the youth job market.

Feng Lijuan, chief human resources expert of 51job.com, told China Business News that under the influence of multiple factors such as rapid economic recovery, vigorous online business development, and companies embarking on new businesses and new market layouts, the recruitment situation this fall is significantly better than last year, but Autumn recruitment is mainly carried out between large companies and prestigious students. At present, it is difficult to make a final conclusion on the employment prospects of 2022 college graduates with a total scale of more than 10 million.

These three industries lead the "autumn recruitment season"

According to the autumn recruitment market, from September 1, 2021 to the present, 51job.com and Freshmen Jobs.com have published 603,000 new graduate recruitment positions, and the number of recruits reached 1.035 million. This is the autumn recruitment of 2020 (graduated in 2021). Students) 1.8 times in the same period, which is 146% of the 2019 autumn recruitment (2020 fresh graduates) in the same period.

According to the industry classification of the employer’s core business, 51job.com’s 61 industries require more than 10% of 2020 graduates in 38 industries, and more than 10% of 2020 graduates in 52 industries. .

In terms of specific industries, the demand for talents in the semiconductor, software and biopharmaceutical industries has grown the fastest.

The impact of the epidemic on the global supply chain and the rise of the "chip" industry into a national strategy by many countries have prompted semiconductor/integrated circuit companies to increase R&D, expand production, and build factories.

The demand for employment in schools and social recruitment has risen in a "rocket-like" manner.

Among the 187 semiconductor companies participating in the survey, more than half of the recruitment plans have a completion rate of less than 60%.

Electronic information graduates are the most "hot" in this year's autumn recruitment.

The 211/985 colleges and universities surveyed had 4.2 job opportunities per capita for graduates with a master's degree in electronics and information, and the salary level of the employer's offer was also higher than that of the other.

The demand for graduates in the biopharmaceutical industry (health industry) has maintained a strong momentum in 2020, and the number of recruits has increased by 38% over the 2021 class.

The biopharmaceutical industry's marketing, data algorithms, information management and online customer service, and even the recruitment of graduates for administrative and financial positions have soared.

Recruitment of graduates in the related agricultural and food fields has also nearly doubled.

Feng Lijuan told China Business News that due to the large number of international orders and the substantial increase in online retailing, computers and other electronic products that can be used for work at home are out of stock globally. This year, the manufacturing industry's demand for college students has increased significantly.

There are structural contradictions in this. Although many manufacturing industries are CNC and automated production, but design software, design, digital analysis, and algorithms also require college students to work. However, due to cost considerations, many manufacturing factories are not located in the urban area. , It is very difficult to recruit college students.

The autumn recruitment market shows that lack of people has become a major factor restricting the rapid recovery of my country's industrial chain and supply chain.

Even for production companies in first-tier cities, it is very difficult to recruit graduates for production jobs, while recruitment in third- and fourth-tier cities is even more difficult.

Data since September shows that the recruitment of graduates in the four first-tier cities accounted for 32.7% of the overall school recruitment, and the recruitment of graduates in the top ten cities accounted for 54.6%.

Some of the more remote energy construction projects, auto/parts factories, electronic equipment, and food processing positions in large companies are unexpectedly difficult to recruit. Some companies start off-site rotation projects, and some young employees will leave.

Every year’s recruitment season will be staged "a few happy and a few sorrows". Due to the distance of capital, the top five real estate and education and training industries in the 2021 graduate recruitment volume have all dropped out of the top ten in the 2022 graduate recruitment volume. Recruitment amounts are equivalent to 57% and 61% of last year's.

It is worth noting that the 2022 graduate recruitment volume of employers in the e-commerce industry dropped by 11% from 2021, the first drop in three years.

Although several major Internet companies have stated that it is "the biggest recruitment ever," many small-scale e-commerce employers and related service companies said they prefer mature talents, and some said they "cannot afford college graduates."

Feng Lijuan believes that the competition for graduates of 2022 prestigious schools and the optimization and reduction of 35-year-old + employees by some "big factories" are two sides of the same coin.

Skills upgrading is a fatal injury to older employees. College students are more able to adapt to the digital age, and companies are more inclined to purchase skills rather than experience. They have increased the number of college graduates recruited in 2022 in order to achieve human resources.

The phenomenon of "slow employment" of college students has not yet changed

my country’s youth survey unemployment rate has always been higher than the national urban survey unemployment rate, and the employment of college graduates is also the top priority of our country’s employment work.

This year's Central Economic Work Conference pointed out that the employment problem of college graduates and other youths should be resolved.

The high youth unemployment rate is restricted by both aggregate factors and structural factors.

The structural employment contradictions among youth groups have become increasingly prominent, and the phenomenon of disconnection between supply and demand, discomfort in job positions, and "slow employment" occurs from time to time.

Yao Kai said that with the influx of tens of millions of graduates into the job market, economic pressure will inevitably increase, and employment in some industries and top employers will appear to be involuntary, which has caused the youth unemployment rate to rise.

There is also structural unemployment among youth employment groups, and the knowledge and skills acquired in colleges and universities are somewhat out of touch with the needs of enterprise employers.

The autumn recruitment market shows that the number of 2022 graduates who apply for graduate studies will once again set a record.

Parents, even some schools and classmates are warning that "undergraduate is not enough to find a good job."

Some well-known universities have even issued nearly 50% of undergraduate research offers.

51job.com surveyed 4047 211/985 fresh graduates in the fall of 2021 and found that 64% of undergraduates said they would study for postgraduates, and 26% of postgraduates said they wanted to study for Ph.D.

More than half of the graduates here said that "postgraduate entrance examination is to obey and meet the requirements of parents or the school."

Feng Lijuan believes that 211/985 and other schools have emerged as the main job-seekers for master's degree students, and the internal volume of academic qualifications has become a reality.

The business environment is changing rapidly. The current knowledge acquisition and ability training mainly come from action (work), especially teamwork, which is difficult for schools to provide.

Employment and industry certainly have vents, but from the perspective of a longer cycle, learning while using and doing while learning is the right way to open up the workplace.

Yao Kai believes that in response to the challenges posed by tens of millions of college students to the job market, we should attach great importance to the employment and entrepreneurship of college students, fully tap the policy and market employment supply capabilities, and mobilize various levers such as finance, finance and policy to expand the supply of jobs. Give full play to the role of new forms of employment such as Internet + employment in absorbing employment.

Entrepreneurship is used to promote employment, a life-cycle incubation service system should be formed around college students’ entrepreneurship, and college students’ entrepreneurship should be effectively used to promote employment.
