“Eight children have been returned from the camps today, plus one from the orphanage in Damascus.

Age from 6 to 17 years old, all from Dagestan, ”said the children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.

She noted that the children were taken from the airfield by ambulance to one of the Moscow clinics, where they will undergo a full medical examination, including for COVID-19.

After quarantine, the children will be transferred to relatives.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Anna Kuznetsova, during a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, suggested continuing interaction on the return of Russian children from refugee camps to Russia.
