Bjarne Bjurström ordered the Fixed Broadband service via the mobile network from Telia in the hope of being able to have video meetings and read his digital newspaper.

But when Telia's fitter arrived to install the antenna, it turned out that the reception was too poor and the speed too low.

- We are ten properties in this village.

If it is to be possible to conduct some kind of business here and have a vibrant countryside, we must have a functioning internet, says Bjarne Bjurström.

Bjarne Bjurström thinks that it is misleading for Telia to market mobile broadband as a flexible alternative to dug fiber.

He also thinks that the advertising was aggressive with targeted personal letters and that Telia's salesmen claimed direct inaccuracies - a picture shared by several people who SVT spoke to.

Municipality: "Can not be compared wirelessly with dug fiber"

Many have chosen to report Telia to the Swedish Consumer Agency and the company is the second most reported in the country - so far this year.

Many have also turned to broadband coordinator Rasmus Lundholm at Norrtälje municipality to air their dissatisfaction with mobile broadband.

- In rural areas, it is not possible to compare wireless internet with dug fiber.

The only alternative in the countryside is a fixed connection as we see it, he says.

According to Rasmus Lundholm, a stable internet connection is about more than surfing and watching movies.

- It is about being able to participate in society and stay where you live.

If the digital infrastructure is not in place, there is a risk of falling behind and ending up in digital exclusion.
