A real miracle.
While driving his car in Oderen (Haut-Rhin), this Wednesday morning in the south-east of Alsace, an octogenarian found himself stuck on the railway tracks when the barriers have lowered, signifying the arrival of a train.
The octogenarian managed to restart the vehicle moments before the collision, reports the Latest News from Alsace.
The collision could not be avoided and the vehicle was thrown several meters onto the roadway.
Luckily, the 87-year-old driver escaped the worst and had no apparent injury.
He was nevertheless transported to Mulhouse hospital for checks.
No injuries are to be deplored among the passages of the TER.
