Threatens up to ten years: how the case of a suspect in embezzlement of 23 million rubles of a bank teller is developing

In Achinsk, the investigation of a criminal case on embezzlement of a large amount of money continues: the 30-year-old cashier of Alfa Bank, Anna Grigorieva, is suspected of having taken out 15 million rubles, $ 49.5 thousand and € 49.2 thousand in cash from work.

After that, the woman disappeared, but a few days later she herself went to the police.

She had no money.

According to local media, citing sources in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during interrogation Anna said that she had given the stolen millions to some "extortionists".

Grigorieva allegedly could not describe their appearance.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnoyarsk Territory, RT, could not confirm this information. 

“The woman really came to the police station herself, we reported this on the website.

We have no other information and it is not in the interests of the investigation to divulge the details of the case, ”the press service noted.

Recall that a large amount of money was missed by Grigorieva's colleagues only three days after the loss and reported to the police.

On the same day, the mother of the cashier of Alfa-Bank came to the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a statement about the disappearance of her daughter.

She and the husband of the disappeared said that Anna left home on the night of December 7 and stopped communicating.

Attempted suicide and notes to relatives

Both the moment of the theft of money from the bank and further movements of Anna Grigorieva around the city were recorded by CCTV cameras.

So, the day before her "disappearance" the woman was hospitalized after an unsuccessful suicide attempt.

A video camera installed at the entrance of her house captured on December 6, as the cashier was taken away by ambulance doctors.

Already a couple of hours after hospitalization, Anna returned home with her husband.

Why a woman, who was trying to commit suicide, was released from a medical facility so quickly, is now being investigated by law enforcement agencies.

On the same night, at 03:05 Krasnoyarsk time, a woman similar to Grigoriev again got into the camera lens in the entrance, when she was going down the stairs, she was carrying a box in her hands.

The next day, it turns out that an employee of Alfa-Bank took the same box out of the vault at the end of the working week - this is evidenced by the recordings from surveillance cameras, which the organization's employees looked at only on December 7, when they realized that the money had gone.

Anna's mother, who contacted the Achinsk department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs the morning after her daughter's disappearance, showed the police a note that Grigorieva had left.

In it, the woman confessed her love to her husband, hinted that she wanted to commit suicide and asked her relatives for forgiveness.

“Sorry, I can't do that.

Over the years, I've been quietly going crazy ... Forgive me, family, I love you.

Denya, bury me next to Aunt Tanya, so that we can be together.

All my friends, I love you very much!

Mom, just don't cry, you are my best, ”says the letter to Grigorieva, a photo of which was posted on social networks after her disappearance.

At work, Anna's colleagues also found a note - in it Grigorieva apologized to her boss and wrote that she was “forced” to commit a crime.

The message says that the woman was allegedly pressured and threatened for many years, and after the "last time" she could not stand it and decided to steal.

“Dasha (presumably, the boss of Grigorieva Daria Zhelaeva. -

), I'm not to blame, I'm sorry I couldn't tell, I was silent for three years because I was threatened.

The guys didn’t know that Sveta (Grigorieva’s colleague -

) was not to blame, don’t punish her, they said that they knew everything about my family, watched and forced me to do this, ”Anna wrote.

In both notes, there is no indication of who and for what threatened the cashier and followed her family.

Husband-gambling addict or romance on the side?

While the law enforcement agencies were looking for Grigorieva, the case acquired new details, and the media tried to guess the motives.

In particular, it turned out that Anna's husband, Denis, was an avid gambler and spent a lot of time in bookmakers, as evidenced by the recordings from surveillance cameras in one of them.

It also turned out that due to an addiction to gambling, the man got into debt.

He owes about 700 thousand rubles only to bookmakers.

In the news of Achinsk on social networks, users suggested that it was her husband's debts that forced the woman to steal.

Investigators convinced Grigorieva's husband to undergo a polygraph test.

According to local media reports, during the procedure, the husband of the cashier was nervous, talking about the events of December 3-7, which may indicate that he was not telling the truth.

Another version concerns a possible novel by Grigorieva on the side.

These assumptions caused footage from Anna's entrance, taken on the eve of her escape - in which the woman is accompanied by an unknown man.

In addition, Grigorieva's neighbors told reporters that screams have been heard from the apartment of Anna and her husband recently - scandals happened in the family, and, according to eyewitnesses, only Anna's husband was shouting.

These details gave rise to the version that Grigoriev's money could allegedly have been stolen for her lover, hoping to escape to him from her gambling addict husband, mired in debt.

Mother's confession

Despite the fact that Grigorieva's mother herself went to the police to report the disappearance of her daughter, investigators suggested that the woman was hiding information.

The suspicions were confirmed: on December 14, she admitted that all this time she knew where Anna was.

“The operatives once again worked out the family and other ties of the suspect.

After analyzing the materials received, one of the officers of the criminal investigation department suggested that the mother of the suspect was in fact aware of her whereabouts.

It was decided to talk to her again.

During the conversation, the operative managed to build a constructive relationship with the woman.

As a result, she convinced her daughter to stop hiding and report to the police, ”the statement on the website of the Krasnoyarsk Interior Ministry department said.

After a confession, the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Krasnoyarsk Territory published footage from the interrogation of the woman, while the video shows only the moment when the investigator reads out her rights to Grigorieva, the testimony of Anna herself was not disclosed.

Criminal law specialist Vadim Kudryavtsev believes that despite the available information that Anna's husband and mother helped her hide from the authorities, they most likely will not be prosecuted.

“In article 316 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“ Concealment of crimes ”) there is a note according to which the criminal liability for concealment of a crime does not apply to spouses and close relatives.

They can be interrogated as witnesses in a criminal case, but they are not in danger of punishment, "he explains to RT.

The Krasnoyarsk department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also told RT that there are no new suspects in the case of stealing money from Alfa Bank, and Anna herself is in a temporary detention center.

In the near future, a preventive measure should be chosen for her.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Art.

160 of the Criminal Code ("Misappropriation or embezzlement"), the punishment for which is up to ten years in prison.
