The rescue service was alerted to the scene just before five in the morning.

- The car had got stuck with two wheels, it remained on the edge, says Victor Hermansson.

He estimates that the hole is about 4 meters long, 2 meters wide and about one meter deep.

The car's airbag tripped but no person was injured in the accident.

- We fear that the car is more damaged than can be seen, says Victor Hermansson, operations manager at the rescue service in Tranås.

Crisis meeting

The municipality sits during the morning in a crisis meeting.

- It's nice that the water leak has now emerged.

It is located under the Swedish Transport Administration's road so we need to sync together, says Björn Johansson, department manager at the street department.

The nearby Norrskolan and parts of central Tranås now lack water in the morning.

During the morning, other parts of the water supply are now switched off.

The road is blocked

A rescuer had to pull up the car that was stuck.

About 200 meters of Mjölbyvägen have been blocked off.

The municipality's street department will now investigate what happened.

This week there have been major problems with water leaks in the resort.
