13 December 2021 The 56-year-old man, companion of the 50-year-old Romanian woman stabbed in her home in Quartu Sant'Elena, in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, was arrested on charges of voluntary murder. The man is currently guarded by the Carabinieri at the 'Giuseppe Brotzu' Hospital in Cagliari.

The companion of the killed woman allegedly attempted suicide after being tracked down by the Carabinieri in the countryside of Castiadas. The Sardinian man stabbed himself, trying to cut his throat and wrists and getting some wounds. He was immediately transferred to the Cagliari hospital where he was subjected to a visit by the coroner to determine if he was in a position to answer the questions of the investigators.

The man was tracked down following searches carried out by the Carabinieri

who were looking for him from the early afternoon, when the woman's body was discovered. The Arma soldiers managed to track him down thanks to information activities and through mobile phone cells. He was hiding in his car in the countryside of Castiadas, in southern Sardinia, near an overpass. The Carabinieri knew who he was, since in recent weeks they had already intervened in the woman's home in the building in Via della Musica in Quartu Sant'Elena, to settle some quarrels between the two.

To call them the neighbors of the 50-year-old, alarmed by the screams. "We heard them arguing - said the roommates - he screamed: 'I'll kill you, I'll kill you', while she invited him to leave". Also last Saturday the police were called: In the past an ambulance had also intervened and the doctors had treated the woman.

The woman's body was discovered in the house in the early afternoon. Dozens of stab wounds were found on the body, perhaps even more than thirty.

The investigations carried out by the Carabinieri confirmed the hypothesis of femicide

. The woman had lived in an attic on the third floor of the building for about a year. It is not known exactly what work he did.

To launch thealarm was the sister

, who lives in Romania: "I haven't heard from her for three days," he told the Carabinieri of Quartu who then made the macabre discovery.

To ascertain the many stab wounds was the coroner Roberto Demontis.

The Ris specialists, the Pm Nicoletta Mari and the investigators of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Cagliari also took part.

The murder has yet to be "dated": the neighbors say that, for a few days, they have not heard any noise coming from the third floor.

And that, in general, both the woman and those who had gone to live with her for a few months saw little.
