It was following a report from a doctor that the case broke in 2018, the health professional having noted the boy's advanced state of undernutrition.
In front of the investigators, the brother and his sister had indicated that they were deprived of food or were forced to eat raw rice in the garage.
Cold showers, slaps and insults
They also recounted the abuse they had to endure, including cold showers, slaps, punches and insults.
When they wet the bed, their father and his partner also plunged their heads into the toilet or made them sleep naked.
At the end of the hearing, the couple were sentenced to two years in prison.
The father and his partner will also have to pay 6,000 euros to the children for the moral damage suffered.
