The UK has reported its first death from infection with Omicron, a new strain of COVID-19.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said at a visit to a vaccination clinic in London on the 13th local time that at least one death was confirmed due to omicron mutations.
British Health Minister Sajid Javid said about 10 people have been hospitalized with omicron infection.
In the UK, 1,239 new omicron-mutated infections have been reported as of the previous day.
