Among the folkloric and lyrical paintings that reflect its cultural heritage and the traditions of its people, the Republic of Equatorial Guinea celebrated its National Day yesterday at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The celebration, which was witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Supreme President and CEO of Emirates Airlines and the Group, Chairman of the Higher Committee of “Expo 2020 Dubai”, began with raising the flags of the UAE and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea on the platform of nations in Al Wasl Square, the beating heart of for "Expo 2020 Dubai", and then the national anthems of the two countries were played.

The celebration ceremony at Al Wasl Square was attended by a delegation headed by the Vice President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea responsible for national defense and state security, Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mange, a number of senior officials and members of the diplomatic corps, and members of the Equatorial Guinean community in the country.

Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mange said in his speech on the occasion: “Equatorial Guinea is a country of peace and stability, where people of different ethnic groups and cultures live in harmony, love and interdependence. We have made important economic progress, and we are now working to promote development based on a diversified economy, including Strengthening the infrastructure, fishing industry and tourism sectors in an attractive and important program for investors. For his part, Executive Director of the Office of the Commissioner-General "Expo 2020 Dubai" Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali said: "The Equatorial Guinea Pavilion offers its visitors a unique experience, from exploring diverse landscapes, to learning about the economic and social transformation that the country is leading, with a focus on infrastructure development. Infrastructure, including seaports, airports, the future capital of Aoyala, and others."The Equatorial Guinea Pavilion also promotes the potential of the tourism, mining and agricultural sectors to visitors and investors, and invites us to witness a pure African model of structural and sustainable development," he added.

The ceremony to celebrate the National Day of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea was concluded with the presentation of traditional, folkloric and lyrical art displays, which reflect in their entirety the cultural heritage, customs and traditions of the population.

The Equatorial Guinea Pavilion is located in the Sustainability Pavilion, and works to paint a picture of the country's sustainable future through the construction of the city of Oyala, which is expected to become the center of the African continent for development, and the pavilion invites visitors to the international event to explore and learn about the history, culture and innovative thinking of this country, through a beautiful collection. Among the brightly colored frescoes that decorate the pavilion, reflecting the culture and spirit of the people of this land, and their quest to ensure the conservation of the biodiversity of their lands.
