Four days after having created the surprise by pleading for the union of the lefts in the presidential election, Anne Hidalgo held this Sunday, December 12 a meeting in Perpignan, the largest French city ruled by the extreme right.

A symbolic place where the socialist wished to appear as the candidate capable of defending the country against the peril of the far right.

We will say: 'But she seeks union. But she dreams!'

Well, yes I am dreaming,

 ”assumes Anne Hidalgo.

Even if her proposal for a union of the left for the presidential election is unlikely to succeed, the socialist candidate wants to believe in a jump in the face of the scenarios that lie ahead.

"

If we close our eyes, we will have a Macron-Pécresse five-year term,"

warns the socialist candidate.

And in an ultimate nightmare, a victory for the far right which would relegate France to the rank of small xenophobic and racist countries.

"

"No pasaran"

However Anne Hidalgo wants to be the best bulwark against the danger of the extreme right.

Hence the choice of Perpignan, where it could have gone to one of the socialist strongholds of the South: “

I am coming here to Perpignan to appeal for the unity of France on this land which sings to the winds of Spain.

I tell you with all my soul

:

"No pasaran".

 "

The fact remains that for the moment, what does not pass, it is rather the socialist candidacy.

Ecologists, communists and rebels have addressed an end of inadmissibility to the outstretched hand of Anne Hidalgo.

Because the wind of the polls is not blowing in the right direction for the mayor of Paris.
