Face to face丨Removing screws and improvising poetry...90-day space journey of the Shenzhou 12 astronaut crew

The universe is vast, and Chinese astronauts exploring space have never left the public's concern and vision.

Just before the Shenzhou 13 astronaut crew conducted their first space teaching at the China Space Station, Shenzhou 12 astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming, and Tang Hongbo appeared at the press conference.

This is their first official meeting with the media and the public since they returned to the ground on September 17.

Physical condition "The internal organs are not affected, and I have started jogging"

The recovery period after the return of the Shenzhou 12 astronaut crew is mainly divided into three phases: isolation recovery phase, recuperation recovery phase, and recovery observation phase. At present, the Shenzhou 12 astronaut crew has completed the second phase of work and is now comprehensive. Transfer to the recovery observation stage.

Liu Boming: We are now jogging on the playground, not as fast as we used to sprint to exercise our heart and lungs.

This time may be equivalent to a long flight, and recovery will be slower.

Wait until the body is fully recovered before entering the next step of training. Prematurely entering the next step of training will cause damage.

Reporter: Are all internal organs and body functions not affected?

  Liu Boming: None.

Weightlessness mainly changes the redistribution of body fluids. You can see that the faces of the God 13 crews are swollen on the top. They look shiny and feel young, but they are actually congested, not fat.

When entering the space station for the first time, one person removed more than 3,000 screws, "the screws all pretend to be Venus"

During the Shenzhou 12 astronaut crew’s orbit, they completed the daily management of the core module assembly and a large number of scientific tests (experiments). They also performed two out-of-vehicle activities and performed extravehicular operations, which verified the astronauts’ long-term Key technologies for the construction and operation of space stations, such as on-orbit stay, regeneration, life support, and space material supply.

On June 17, 2021, three astronauts from Shenzhou 12 will stay in the Chinese Space Station.

After moving in, the first task of the astronauts is to organize materials and install equipment and facilities.

Prior to this, the Tianzhou-2 cargo spacecraft, which successfully launched and completed the rendezvous and docking with the core module of Tianhe, had delivered 6.8 tons of materials in advance.

Nie Haisheng: At the beginning, I did this every day, because these things can’t be said about how much I did. It is related to our life behind, and it will be done within a few days.

You have to install it in the kitchen, you have to install it in the bathroom, and the wireless communication has to be well...To make these things, you need to remove a lot of screws, and remove the baskets of screws.

Because it can’t be stacked after disassembly, it will drift away, so it’s very cumbersome step by step, and it can’t be done too fast, so I just keep working there.

Liu Boming: At the beginning, the three of us were like stevedores. I removed more than 3,000 screws. We used a size 8 wrench. The screws were tightened very tightly. There was a little glue on the top, so I was afraid of vibration and impact.

So when we removed that kind of screw, when we used the principle of leverage to pull, the screws all directly appeared as Venus.

I encountered a challenge when I got out of the cabin for the first time:

At 8:11 on July 4, 2021, Liu Boming jumped into the vast universe.

This is the first time that Chinese astronauts have performed an exit mission after the successful completion of the flight crew of Shenzhou VII in 13 years.

For the first time out of the cabin, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo cooperated tacitly to complete tasks such as raising the panoramic camera and emergency return drill.

When the exit activity was about to end, Liu Boming needed to dismantle the operating table on the robotic arm and install it on the outside toolbox at the door of the node cabin.

Liu Boming: If you install that console, you won't be able to install it.

I was holding the ring-shaped handrail with my right hand, and people were floating there. I was holding this console with my left hand. A lever in front of it was facing in, and the socket was inserted. sorry.

I couldn't pretend it alone, and then Tang Hongbo came out again, and neither of us can pretend it.

The one-meter-long console is wobbly in space.

How to complete the installation task is a test of mental and mental power for Liu Boming.

Liu Boming: Fortunately, the command is very experienced this time, and I reacted very quickly.

I thought that the manpower could not reach it, so I split it up, I asked for instructions on the ground splitting, and operated in accordance with the cabin exit procedure.

When I got out of the cabin, I operated it in two steps. Later, the ground adopted my suggestion and split the operation for it.

After the dismantling password was issued, the space station just flew out of the observation and control area.

When he entered the measurement and control area again 11 minutes later, Liu Boming had installed the console on the outboard toolbox.

After about 7 hours of exiting the cabin, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo successfully completed the exit mission.

The first exit was one hour longer than the original plan, but with the experience of the first exit, the second exit on August 21 was completed one hour earlier than planned.

Three in space Nie Haisheng: Astronauts are not superman

On September 17, the three astronauts of Shenzhou 12 completed a 90-day space trip and returned safely.

From being selected as my country’s first batch of astronauts in 1998, to Shenzhou VI in 2005, Shenzhou X in 2013, and Shenzhou XII in 2021, Nie Haisheng can get a copy of "Tickets" for flying missions. Now 57 years old, he is my country's first astronaut in orbit for 100 days.

Reporter: Most people consider retirement at this age. You can still perform such a major and complicated mission at the age of 57. Many people say that astronauts are Superman. Do you think you are a Superman?

Nie Haisheng: No, I am just an ordinary person.

There should be many people who can go up at this age, but many people may not have the opportunity to experience this kind of experience.

  Reporter: Why can you have?

Nie Haisheng: Because I am in time for this time, and now I am going to build a space station, I am at this age again, my training meets the requirements of going up, and I have been preparing continuously.

Reporter: You just used a few words "preparing continuously". How long have you been preparing continuously?

Nie Haisheng: I haven't stopped here.

Adhere to the end of the 11th year to realize the dream of flying to the sky Tang Haibo: The most difficult training item is 72 hours of sleep deprivation

Tang Hongbo, 46, is the youngest astronaut in the Shenzhou 12 astronaut crew.

In 2010, when Nie Haisheng was already a well-known space hero, Tang Hongbo, who was flying fighter jets in the Northwest Desert and was already the captain of the flight brigade at the time, had just been selected as the second batch of astronauts in my country.

However, the difference between sky and space is a huge leap.

Tang Hongbo, who didn't often stay up late and had never been without sleep for 24 hours, is still impressed by 72 hours of isolation training.

Tang Hongbo: In a small environment, you are not allowed to close your eyes for 72 hours, and you cannot sleep with a bed. This feeling is particularly difficult.

But through these trainings, one can develop skills, and the other can also let you know where your energy bottom line is?

Let you know that if I don't sleep for three days and three nights, I can still work.

The process of enduring this kind of training is also a process of tempering.

It is more temperamental than hard training, and there is a long wait.

When Liu Yang, Wang Yaping, and Chen Dong of the same group of comrades in arms flew to the sky, Tang Hongbo had not waited for his chance.

In 2016, he was selected as a backup astronaut for the Shenzhou 11 mission, but he still missed the dream of flying.

Tang Hongbo: I was a backup at that time, and I participated in all the preparations for God Eleven, but I didn't go to heaven.

When Shen eleven was launched, when Chen Dong was on the expedition, I stood on the top of Wentian Pavilion and blessed him. At that time, I didn't know whether he would be selected for the next mission.

  Reporter: Will you practice harder?

  Tang Hongbo: Yes.

Many times on weekends I go to my work unit to read books, research materials, and go home when it’s time to eat. My spouse prepares the ingredients for cooking at home. I go back and fry some dishes. I have a family meal. After the meal, I go again. unit.

It’s not that you’re getting more and more proficient, you just need to keep up to a certain level. In fact, the tasks are getting more and more complicated, and more and more knowledge is needed. In fact, you’ve been learning, learning, learning, waiting while you’re learning, etc. This opportunity.

Space impromptu poem Liu Boming: If you want me to write on the ground, I can’t write it

At the end of Shenzhou 12’s second out of the cabin, Liu Boming held the ring-shaped armrest with his left and right hands alternately, looked around the universe, and said goodbye to the starry sky. He wandered in the hatch for a minute, and made an impromptu poem to share with the people of the whole country: "The universe" There are vast roads, and hundreds of millions of children are crossing overpasses. Astronauts are not old when strolling, and China's aerospace relay races."

Liu Boming: It was really inspiration at that time. You want me to write on the ground. I can't write or read.

But at the time in the sky, when I had to enter the cabin again after the second exit, what did I want to say?

I can't say that I will enter the cabin directly after performing the task. I have to express myself.

Later, I suddenly thought of "the universe is vast, and hundreds of millions of children are crossing overpasses." The universe is really vast, where is the road?

The earth is so far away.

How did I get here?

"Hundreds of millions of sons and daughters fly over." There is no national strength, no support from the people of the whole country, and no one to lift you into outer space. Can you fly up by yourself?

Can you enjoy the beautiful earth if you can't fly up?

I can't appreciate it.

"Walking astronauts are not old, China Aerospace Relay Race".
