At the entrance to the Portuguese pavilion, artists offer visitors to "Expo 2020 Dubai" a glimpse of the original art, and the magic behind the artifacts displayed by the "Portuguese Association of Wood and Furniture Industries".

"Associative Design", the brand of the Portuguese Association of Wood and Furniture Industries (AIMMP), recently landed in the Portuguese pavilion at the International Exhibition. The association reviews the handicrafts of Portugal and the country's rich woodwork heritage. The association highlights furniture and home décor brands to highlight the uniqueness of their innovations, and the high quality with which they are made while taking into account sustainability at the same time. For his part, the president of the association, Vitor Bocas, said: "The most important secret to Portugal's success lies in our investment in design." He added: “From the era when they were building ships for Christopher Columbus, to the sofas and furniture that are made today, there is a lot of great craftsmanship and unappreciated workmanship. Therefore, it is important to appreciate these artists and their craftsmanship that cannot be replaced by technology, and this is what makes Portugal so special.”

On normal days without official tours, visitors can sit on any of the comfortable seats and watch the artists and artisans at work for a wonderful experience.

The Portuguese suite includes a room where visitors can view a dining table with a marble top and elegant and comfortable seating.

The table is a perfect example of the perfect blend of forward-looking innovations and elements of classic Portuguese design.

Portuguese furniture is distinguished by its commitment to sustainability and efficiency, with its fabrics and wallpapers made using a blend of cotton and cork.

Cork is one of Portugal's main exports.

By replacing the polyester in the cotton blend with cork, Portuguese manufacturers have succeeded in creating a durable, clean and biodegradable material.

Most of the furniture on display in the pavilion has either been recycled or converted into higher value products.

The suite also features furnishings made entirely of cork, which is made using recycled bottle corks.
