In the camel beauty contest, which took tens of billions of won in prize money, about 40 animals were disqualified after it was discovered that they had undergone cosmetic procedures such as botox injections.

On the 10th local time, foreign media such as CNN in the United States reported that 43 camels were disqualified after undergoing cosmetic procedures such as botox injections in the camel beauty contest as part of the Saudi Arabia 'King Abdulaziz Camel Festival'.

According to reports, the camel beauty contest held in Saudi Arabia every December is the contest to pick the most beautiful camel, with a total prize money of 66 million dollars (about 77.8 billion won) at stake.

Judges judge the camel's head, neck, hump, attire, and posture to determine the ranking.

Cosmetic procedures for camels participating in the competition are strictly prohibited.

This year's contest selected 43 camels that had undergone plastic surgery using cutting-edge technology.

The caught camel owners were found to have inflated the camel's lips and nose with Botox or injected hormones to increase the camel's muscles.

It has been found that some have used fillers to shape the camel's face.

"Please stop all manipulations and tricks to make the camels beautiful," the official said.

He added, "We will strictly punish participants who violate the procedure prohibiting them, including fines."

The camel beauty contest is the most important part of the 'King Abdulaziz Camel Festival', which consists of several programs such as camel racing and sales of related products.

The event was launched to preserve the long-standing traditions of Saudi Arabia and promote the role of camels.
