More than a year after the assassination of history and geography professor Samuel Paty in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Nathalie Élimas, Secretary of State for Priority Education returned to the issue of teaching secularism in school.

For Nathalie Élimas, guest of Europe Soir Samedi, secularism is "the foundation of our living together".

Since October 16, 2020, the tragic day of the death of Samuel Paty, beheaded for showing caricatures of Muhammad to his students, the issue of teaching secularism at school is more relevant than ever.

"The issue of secularism is quite simple, it is the guarantee of freedom and neutrality", declared Nathalie Élimas, Secretary of State in charge of Priority Education at the microphone of Pierre de Vilno on Europe 1.
