11 December 2021 Croatian police reported that they found the body of a 10-year-old Turkish girl who was swept away by a swollen river on the border with Slovenia, which the family was trying to cross.

The body was found about 400 meters downstream from where the child had disappeared.

Croatian police on Friday found the mother clinging to a tree trunk in the river in shock.

He is now in the hospital.

The other two children had already reached the Slovenian side.

The searches by law enforcement and diving teams began yesterday immediately after the little girl was snatched from her mother's arms by the current of the raging river.
