10 December 2021 After the American inflation figure at its highest since 1982 (+ 6.8% on an annual basis, but still in line with forecasts) Wall Street opens positive.

The Dow Jones gained 0.43% and the Nasdaq 0.33%.

If the figure had been even higher, fears of a possible anticipation of monetary tightening by the Federal Reserve would have increased among investors.

In Europe, on the other hand, the lists have slowed down.

Milan eliminated the weak gains of the morning (-0.02%), London went negative at -0.07%, Paris completely flat, while Frankfurt resisted + 0.14%.

Another effect of US inflation: the dollar slows down.

The exchange rate between euro and greenback is 1.1278.
