Russia will raise the issue of the participation of US Senator Wicker in the work of the OSCE PA

He recalled that Wicker was elected to the post of OSCE PA Deputy Chairman in Minsk in 2019 and re-elected at a distance session in 2021. 

Earlier in an interview with Fox News, the American senator did not rule out the preventive use of nuclear weapons against Russia in connection with the internal Ukrainian crisis.

"The delegation of the Russian Federal Assembly to the OSCE PA has a legitimate question, how can one of the leaders of the Parliamentary Assembly of the organization responsible for security and cooperation in Europe afford to make such irresponsible statements?"

- said Dzhabarov in a commentary to RIA Novosti.

He promised to raise the relevant issue at the winter session in Vienna, which will be held in February 2022.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in the United States called the words of US Senator Roger Wicker about the possible use of nuclear weapons against Russia as irresponsible due to reports of an alleged escalation near the Ukrainian border.

The embassy recalled the joint statement of the presidents of Russia and the United States of June 16, 2021, confirming the countries' commitment to renouncing nuclear war.
