It was announced in Baghdad the day before yesterday, Thursday, the formation of a new Sunni alliance led by Khamis al-Khanjar called "Al-Azm", and it includes 34 deputies.

Al-Khanjar said in a press conference on the sidelines of the announcement of the alliance, that he seeks to make the alliance a great addition to the political process, pushing strongly towards forming the next government, and facilitating the holding of the first session of Parliament.

He added that his alliance is keen on Iraq's unity and security.

He also stressed that the coalition will be keen to communicate with everyone in order to correct what he described as the mistakes committed since 2003 in order to prevent their recurrence, as he put it.

In turn, the representative of the "Azm" coalition, Salem Al-Zoba'i, said in a statement that the dagger is the expression of the final decision in the political negotiations and the negotiations to choose the three presidencies.

The new Sunni alliance includes 5 political forces (Azm Alliance, the Mass Party Bloc, the Hasm Movement for Reform, deputies from the National Contract bloc, and the Arab Alliance in Kirkuk), all of which participated in the elections in the governorates of Anbar (west), Salah al-Din, Kirkuk and Nineveh (north).

"We have decided to form a harmonious and strong political alliance of 34 deputies that can be increased," the coalition said in a statement.

The coalition statement added that one of its main goals is to support the right of the displaced to return to their homes unconditionally and compensate them, to move towards a radical solution to the file of the disappeared, and to punish the perpetrators of these crimes, as well as rebuilding areas liberated by state funds and not by granting organizations and others.

On the tenth of last October, Iraq witnessed early parliamentary elections led by the Sadrist movement with 73 seats out of 329, while the "Progress" coalition won 37 seats, the "State of Law" coalition won 33 seats, and the "Kurdistan Democratic Party" 31 seats.
