The facts A man is arrested in Estepona for the death of an acquaintance who was accused of sexually harassing his daughter
The chance meeting in the street between a 19-year-old girl and the man who was a friend of her family whom she denounced for harassment in 2017 -when she was 15- ended in death on the 4th in
Estepona
(
Malaga
).
Upon seeing the young woman again, the man made advances to her and, according to the woman's testimony, verbally reproduced the messages she sent him four years ago to get intimate, sources of the investigation pointed to this newspaper.
Upon learning what had happened, the girl's father, 49, went to look for his old friend at the bar and beat him up.
The following day, the alleged stalker died in hospital after being unable to overcome the operation to which he was subjected.
The aggressor was arrested but the judge released him after taking a statement, although he remains charged with a crime of reckless homicide.
The events were recorded on the 4th at 12:30 in a cafeteria in Estepona.
The man who died was having coffee at the bar when the young woman's father entered and while he was reprimanding him for harassing his daughter again, he began to kick her in the side.
The assailant was wearing work boots, with
steel
toe caps
.
Apparently he wanted to teach him.
He intended the blows, he said later, to serve as a warning not to approach his daughter again.
The victim was left lying on the ground and then went home.
At night, he began to feel bad about what his partner took him to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery because he had a
ruptured spleen
.
He died in the intervention.
A complaint filed
The Specialized and Violent Crime Unit (Udev) of the Estepona Police launched an investigation.
Hours after the man's death, he detained the assailant at his home.
In his statement, he explained to the agents that in 2017, taking advantage of the confidence they had, he began to send risque messages to his daughter, who was 15 years old at the time.
They denounced him but the court shelved him.
The parents of the then minor expelled the alleged stalker from their family life and since then the man had not contacted the girl again.
However, a week earlier the young woman and her father's former friend met on the street.
He hinted again, as revealed by the same sources.
The girl fled and came home very agitated.
She had to be treated for an anxiety attack and after recovering she told her family what had happened.
The next day, the father went to look for the man at the bar and knocked him down with several kicks while warning him not to approach his daughter again.
After being arrested, neither the Prosecutor's Office nor any of the parties requested his admission to prison.
The judge keeps the aggressor charged with a crime of
reckless homicide
and continues with the investigations to shape his investigation.
