"An analysis of law enforcement practice shows that commercial organizations, including those with a form of state control, against the background of increasing demand, are increasing the production of decommissioned weapons and products that are structurally similar to weapons," RIA Novosti quotes a letter from the department to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
It is noted that in the future these weapons are converted into military counterparts, then it falls into the hands of criminals.
Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia proposed to make a number of amendments to the law on weapons - the department wants to get the authority to research cartridges for civilian and service weapons.
