An 88-year-old woman missing for a month found dead in the Var

An 88-year-old woman was found dead on Monday in the Var.

This is a retiree who has been missing since November 8, reports BFM Var.

It was a cyclist who made the macabre discovery at the end of the afternoon.

At the scene, the gendarmes found the victim's backpack next to the body.

Suffering from Alzheimer's disease, the octogenarian had been actively sought since his disappearance a month ago.

Causes of death to be determined

The victim lived at the Estrazur residence in Cannet-des-Maures.

Without news from her, her relatives mobilized and organized beatings to find her.

The gendarmerie had also launched an appeal for witnesses.

An autopsy will be performed to find out the causes of death.
