Avoid crowded wagons during the Christmas holidays as France goes through its fifth wave of coronavirus.

This is the whole stake this year again for the SNCF.

Guest of Sonia Mabrouk on Europe Matin on Wednesday, the Minister for Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebarri explained that there will be enough trains and that the French have already booked a lot.

As France is going through a fifth wave of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Christmas holidays are approaching and with them the movements of the French, especially by train.

Guest on Europe Matin on Wednesday, the Minister for Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebarri, assured that there would be enough wagons available to holidaymakers and that many reservations have already been made.

"The SNCF is mobilized"

"We have French people who have booked a lot, it is 50% more than last year, or 3 million travelers. They have booked more and more upstream," he said.

"It certainly means that they are confident in the ability to move around and that they want to find their own during the Christmas season."

Jean-Baptiste Djebarri assured him, there will be enough trains.

"The SNCF is fully mobilized, there will be as many trains as possible and a certain number are already full," continued the Minister for Transport.

"We will ensure with the SNCF to be there for this beautiful moment of conviviality."

As for the prices of train tickets, often more excessive than those of plane tickets, he considered that these two means of transport are complementary.

"When the train is in competition with the plane as it happened between Paris and Bordeaux and Paris and Strasbourg, it is the train that wins and it is very good that way. Let everyone take care of making their sector attractive ", he called.
