"Emirates Education" changes the system of working hours and Fridays for half a school day

The Emirates Foundation for School Education reported that the school hours system will be changed in all government schools at the state level, and Friday will be a half-day of study, within the framework of changing the weekly work system, to comply with the new system adopted by the federal government, which begins its implementation in the first From next January.


Yesterday, the Foundation explained that changing the working hours will take into account the educational stages and the logistical data of each school, in order to comply with the new system of working days and the weekly holiday, and school days will be from Monday to Thursday full time, while Friday will be a half school day.


The Foundation stated that the weekly holiday for public school students is on Saturday and Sunday, starting from the first of next January, noting that work will be with government school principals and parents of students to ensure the smoothness of this change.


Students of public and private schools, regardless of the curriculum, begin the first semester vacation, "winter vacation", next Sunday, and it will continue until December 30, and students begin their studies in the second semester, on the third of next January (Monday), after Adjustment of the weekend leave to Saturday, Sunday and Friday half.


The number of school days in the current academic year is 186 days for all public and private schools that follow the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, while it is stipulated that the minimum number of school days in the UAE 2022 academic calendar is not less than 182 for the rest of the other schools, and that the end of the year not be before June 30, 2022 .


The decision of the new system of weekly work applies to all entities in the federal government sector in the country, where the official working hours will be based on the new decision from 7:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon from Monday to Thursday “8 working hours”, and from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm on Friday (4 and a half hours).
