Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened a section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro, which has ten stations. The 20 km section is located from "Mnevniki" to "Kakhovskaya" - now there are 22 stations on this line, connected by almost 44 km of tracks. According to the head of state, the new metro section will significantly improve the transport accessibility of a number of areas in the west and south of Moscow. In turn, Sobyanin said that 70% of the BCL project had already been implemented, and specialists had to finish building nine more stations. According to the mayor, the large ring should close and start working in full mode already in 2023.
