In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Border Security Council, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and a number of ministers, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, signed a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of The Economy in the UAE and the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Costa Rica, on cooperation in the field of small and medium-sized companies and entrepreneurship, signed by the Costa Rican Minister of Economy, Industry and Trade, Victoria Hernandez Mora.

Al Hashemi and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Rodolfo Solano Quiros, also signed two memoranda of understanding, the first focused on strengthening cooperation in the areas of environmental conservation and protection of endangered species, through the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment in the UAE and the Ministry of Environment and Energy in the Republic of Costa Rica.

The second memorandum of understanding included means of cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Costa Rican Authority on achieving the common interest in raising the level of technical cooperation in the field of accreditation according to the best international standards.
