The Lancang-Mekong cooperation has developed rapidly since its inception in 2016, with remarkable results, and has effectively promoted the economic and social development of the six countries in the basin.

For more than five years, the six Lancang-Mekong countries have strengthened technological exchanges and established a Lancang-Mekong water resources cooperation center in China.
In 2020, China will start the annual hydrological information sharing of the Lancang River and open the Lancang-Mekong water resources cooperation information sharing platform website to promote information sharing and cooperation to a new level.
