The CEO of Mortgage Startup Better.com has been accused of firing his employees over a videoconference.

On the 5th local time, CNN Business reported that Better.com founder and CEO Visal Garg laid off about 900 people, or 9% of the company's total workforce, on the 1st.

According to the report, Garg held a videoconference with the layoffs and said, "You are one of the unfortunate groups who answered the call."

"We are now hiring you," he said. "The Human Resources Department will send you an e-mail detailing the severance pay and benefits you will receive after leaving the company."

"This is the second time [there are mass layoffs]. Last time we fired employees, I cried," said Garg, emotionally brief, according to CNN Business.

"It's difficult to make a decision like this at this time of year," Kevin Ryan, Chief Financial Officer of Better.com, said in a statement. Garg also explained that market efficiencies, performance and productivity were the reasons behind the layoffs.

Previously, Gag was caught up in allegations of abusive language at the employees.

According to Forbes, on the 20th local time, Gag sent an e-mail to employees saying, "You are too slow and a stupid dolphin. A stupid dolphin gets caught in a net and gets eaten by a shark." I even woke up.

This is a 'news pick'.
