The

Norwegian Breakaway

happened on 4 December in New Orleans after a seven-day cruise.

On board, more than 3,200 passengers and crew, including ten cases of

Covid-19

have been detected.

Upon arrival, health authorities carried out tests before letting the travelers go.

Anyone who would have tested positive was required to go straight home to isolate themselves.

Cruise line officials assured that the ten confirmed cases were all asymptomatic.

They also clarified that all passengers and crew were fully vaccinated.

Strict procedures in place on cruise ships

Departing on November 28, the

Norwegian Breakaway

traveled to Honduras, Mexico and Belize.

And he must already leave for a new cruise.

The cruise industry was hit hard by the pandemic in 2020. Some ships had become clusters, including the

Diamond Princess

which had been quarantined off the coast of Japan.

More than 700 cases had been detected on board and the virus had claimed the lives of thirteen people.

Since the resumption

of cruises

around the world, the authorities ensure that very strict procedures are in place.
