The Singapore police pointed out that the latest two scams used to contact the victims via text messages. Among them, the recruitment scam is to hire temporary workers with high salaries.
The scammer will tell the victim that some businesses need manpower to increase sales. The job content is very simple. You only need to add items to the shopping cart, like certain posts, or transfer money to a bank account to get a commission.
The scammer will then ask the victim to download some collection software, but before getting the "salary", the payment must be made.
Once the victim transfers the money, the scammer will evaporate.
The victim later found out that not only did he fail to receive wages and commissions, he was also defrauded of a sum of money.
Online gambling-related fraud information will lure victims to download and use gambling sites with generous rewards. After the victims open an account, they will also transfer money to the platform as a gambling capital, thinking that they can easily obtain high returns.
However, the victim will soon be notified that the account has been frozen and that more money must be given to withdraw the bet.
Once they transfer money again, the scammer will lose the connection and the website will no longer be able to log in.
The police reminded not to be greedy at work. If you receive a similar text message, you can delete it and use the mobile phone function to pull the messenger.
If you are pulled into a suspicious group by a stranger, you should also report it immediately to prevent others from falling into the trap.
