06 December 2021 With the departure of the super green pass (which will be in force until 15 January), the government has set a series of measures aimed at contrasting - with greater incisiveness - the number of infections in our country. Measures that should also avoid new closures (devastating under the Christmas period) as confirmed by the Undersecretary of Health, Pierpaolo Sileri, who invites us not to let our guard down: "Beware of the Omicron variant, so we respect those basic rules such as the mask. Well they did. the Municipalities to reintroduce the obligation in the most crowded areas ". And he adds: "We have registered an exponential increase in cases of infections among children and adolescents: our children should be vaccinated first and foremost only for their safety. Then without a shadow of a doubt there is also theprotective effect for the community ''.

The increase in infections in recent weeks has brought some regions back in time. Friuli Venezia Giulia and Trentino Alto Adige are in the yellow band. The change in 'color' for the latter also coincides with an aggravation of the death toll of the pandemic: another six people have died from the consequences of the Sar-Cov-2 infection. To find more than five deaths in a single day, it is necessary to go back to last March 29 when there were eight. Since the start of the health emergency, the deaths from Covid-19 are now 1,255. The laboratories of the provincial health authority, in the last 24 hours, have also ascertained 221 new positive cases. If there is no clear inversion of the epidemiological curve by Christmas, they risk moving into the yellow zone: Veneto, Calabria, Liguria,Marche and Lazio.

Agenas, intensive employment stable in Italy at 8%

The percentage of beds occupied by Covid patients in hospital wards in the 'non-critical' area rises to 10% at national level. The percentage of intensive care places occupied by Covid patients, on the other hand, remained stable at 8%. The Marches return beyond the threshold reaching 12% and Friuli Venezia Giulia (16%) and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (14) remain beyond the limit (which is 10%). While the percentage is decreasing in Abruzzo (at 4%), Calabria (at 10%), Liguria (at 10%), Umbria (at 8%), Valle d'Aosta (at 3%). This is what emerges from the daily monitoring of the National Agency for Regional Health Services (Agenas), which compares the data of December 6 with those of the previous day.

Gimbe, in the last two weeks 390 thousand new vaccinated

"The growth of cases is confirmed, but with an impact on hospitals that is however considerably more modest than in the pre-vaccination era. In the pre-vaccination era, with the current number of infections , we had three times the number of hospitalized and intensive care patients "explains in turn Nino Cartabellotta of the Gimbe Foundation. "For every thousand positive cases we have, 2.4% are hospitalized in the medical area and 3x thousand go to intensive care. We have to manage the pandemic in an ordinary way, because we can no longer afford to clog hospitals by hindering care for patients with other pathologies ".

"The good news is that in the last two weeks we have practically obtained about 390 thousand new vaccinates" says Cartabellotta.

"This directly or indirectly demonstrates that the famous hard core of unvaccinated still has room to be scratched. It is obvious that if this type of vaccination increase were to be maintained, within two months there will be only the diehards not to get vaccinated. I doubt that there can be this increase, even if it is very difficult to make predictions because Italians often surprise us positively ".

Costa, "there are vaccines also for boosters"

On the vaccine front, there is also good news from the government.

"We reassure everyone: there are vaccines - among other things we have returned to a daily administration that exceeds 400 thousand doses per

day - the structures on the territory are there, we are in a position to proceed quickly both with the recall and with the new doses, and with vaccination for the little ones "says the undersecretary of health, Andrea Costa.
