In Sweden, 700 people live with the disease cystic fibrosis, which often requires a lung transplant and leads to a shorter life.

Half of those affected would be helped by a new drug that has been shown to be effective in treating the disease.

The drug adds a protein that prevents the harmful mucus from forming - the one that gradually destroys the lungs.

Price tag: Two million kronor a year

Despite the fact that the drug is not subsidized in Sweden, it can be bought at a pharmacy.

But it costs over two million kronor a year.

The pharmaceutical company has submitted a new application to the authority.

If there is a new refusal, Matilda Lundgren is considering leaving the country.

- Then my boyfriend and I discussed discussing moving to a country where Kaftrio is subsidized today.

For the alternative is to stay in Sweden, live according to the old cf care and then it means a lung transplant and before that a deterioration that is very difficult, she says.

In the video, Matilda talks about her everyday life with the treatment she goes through every day.
