Two months into the mass vaccination, it was noticed in the statistics that not all Uppsala residents were equally inclined to go and get vaccinated.

Then, in May, Norra Gottsunda was at the bottom with 73.4 percent of all people over 65 who took the first dose.

- We are aware of that and we want to make investments in those areas to see if we can reach more people.

We try to get information in different languages and be available as best we can, said Margareta Öhrvall, vaccination coordinator, then.

Still low in Gottsunda

New data from the Swedish Public Health Agency show that the Uppsala Region has not been fully successful.

Among the ten so-called DeSO (demographic statistics areas) in Uppsala County that had the lowest vaccination coverage at the end of November, five were in Gottsunda and Valsätra.

- It's not good at all.

But I think the coverage is slightly better than these figures because some have been vaccinated in their home countries.

However, it is a smaller proportion and thus not the whole explanation, says chief physician Erik Sköldenberg.

Lowest coverage for students

The western part of Sernander's road, which consists of student apartments, where only 51 percent have taken the second dose, has the worst coverage.

- It is probably due to the fact that many students live there and those who come from abroad may have been vaccinated in their home country, says Erik Sköldenberg.

The Bälinge-Lövstalöt area had the highest vaccination coverage.
