More and more tourists are choosing to drive an electric car to the mountain towns and the demand for charging stations has increased.

In Kittelfjäll, the owners of the hotel Johan and Fia Alexandersson themselves have set up two fast chargers.

- We set them up because we drive an electric car, but our chargers will not be enough to cover the needs of the tourists this winter, says Fia Alexandersson.

Had to pay back

In the spring of 2021, the Swedish Transport Administration granted money to set up a fast charger in Kittelfjäll, but when the electricity network proved to be too weak, Vattenfall, which was to set up fast chargers, was forced to pay the money back to the Swedish Transport Administration.

Despite this, several entrepreneurs are investing in driving electric cars themselves.
