On the morning of December 6, local time, the Nay Pyi Taw Zebu Dirui Court in Myanmar ruled that the State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Min "incited the crime" in accordance with Article 505b of the Criminal Law of Myanmar and the Natural Disaster Management Law. He was convicted of "violating epidemic prevention regulations" and sentenced to 4 years in prison each.

This is the first judgment issued by a Myanmar court since the case involving Aung San Suu Kyi and Win Myint entered the judicial process in mid-February.

At present, Aung San Suu Kyi is facing more than a dozen charges, including corruption, election fraud, leaking state secrets, violating anti-epidemic regulations, illegal import and possession of walkie-talkies, etc. Other cases are in the trial process and no verdict has yet been issued. Su Ji's sentence may increase further.
