Myanmar's military regime in a coup d'état has sentenced state adviser Aung San Suu Kyi, who is under house arrest, to four years in prison for sedition and other charges, AFP news agency reported, citing a military government spokesman.

After the military coup d'état on February 1st, claiming that the general election in November last year was fraudulent, the military placed under house arrest for shame torture. Since then, they have been charged with more than 10 crimes, including sedition and corruption.

The sentence is the first court ruling on a shame adviser since a coup.
