Today, Sunday, the Houthi group bombed the city of Marib (eastern Yemen) with 4 ballistic missiles, and violent battles continue between the group and the pro-government forces.

Military sources said that the Houthi group bombed several residential neighborhoods in the city of Marib (the governorate center) with 4 ballistic missiles.

So far, the local authorities in the province have not announced any casualties as a result of the missile strikes.

In this context, the fighting fronts in the south of the province are witnessing violent battles between the army forces and the Houthi militia, according to military sources.

The sources said that Houthi gunmen launched a violent attack on the army and resistance positions in the "Dhanna" front (south of Marib), with the aim of controlling those sites.

The sources added that the attack was repelled, and the battles resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides.

Since the beginning of last February, the Houthis have intensified their attacks in Marib to control it, as it is the most important stronghold of the government and the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, in addition to its enjoyment of oil and gas wealth, and the Marib gas station, which before the war supplied most of the provinces with electricity.

Alliance Operations

On Saturday, the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy announced the killing of 60 Houthi fighters in Ma'rib Governorate.

The coalition said - in a statement - that 11 targeting operations were carried out against the Houthi militia, which resulted in dozens of deaths of its members, and the destruction of many of its military vehicles.

The coalition confirmed that the targeting of the Houthi militia in Marib also destroyed 7 military vehicles.

Earlier, the coalition announced the implementation of air strikes against military targets in Sanaa.

The coalition has recently intensified its air raids on separate locations in the capital, Sanaa;

It focused on targeting workshops and warehouses for ballistic missiles and Houthi drones.

Yemen has been witnessing for nearly 7 years a continuous war between the pro-government forces backed by an Arab military coalition led by the neighboring Saudi Arabia, and the Iranian-backed Houthis, who have controlled several governorates, including the capital, Sanaa, since September 2014.
