According to the newspaper's sources in NATO and Ukrainian military intelligence, the offensive will take place in late January - early February 2022.

As Bild notes, two scenarios are considered: a simultaneous attack from multiple fronts or an attack in multiple phases.

In the first scenario, we are talking about a simultaneous attack from the northern Crimea and through the territories of the DPR and LPR.

The second scenario, according to the newspaper, involves three phases: an attack on the south of Ukraine, on the north-east of Ukraine and an offensive on Kiev from the north.

As the newspaper writes, as a result, Russia "expects to occupy about two-thirds of the Ukrainian territory."

Earlier, The New York Times, citing American and European sources, reported that the United States had warned its allies in Europe about the risk of a "Russian invasion" of Ukraine.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the publications of the Western media about the concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine, allegedly to prepare for an invasion of the territory of a neighboring state.

According to her, the United States is conducting a "special operation to escalate the situation" around Ukraine, shifting responsibility to Russia.

The press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is not going to attack anyone.
