The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received a written message from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, dealing with relations between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them.

The message was delivered by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan at the Amiri Diwan in Doha.

The letter also includes an invitation to the Emir of Qatar to attend the meeting of the 42nd session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, to be held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia this December.

Contacts and mutual visits between officials from Qatar and Saudi Arabia are intensifying, especially at the leadership level, after the end of the most difficult Gulf crisis since the establishment of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in 1981.

On January 5, it was announced at a Gulf summit in Saudi Arabia that a reconciliation agreement had been signed, ending a crisis during which Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severed their relations with Qatar.
