According to Indonesian media citing officials in Lumajang County, East Java Province, where Semeru volcano is located, at least one villager has died in the eruption and 41 others have been injured.

  After the Indonesian President Joko received the report of the disaster caused by the volcanic eruption, he instructed Suharyanto, the director of the country's disaster relief agency, to go to the disaster area as soon as possible to guide disaster relief.

Sukhayanto said that he will lead the team in the morning on the 5th.

  That night, the Indonesian National Disaster Relief Agency will deliver blankets, ready-to-eat food, tarpaulins, emergency tents, mattresses and other relief materials to the disaster areas overnight.

  According to Sukhayanto, after the eruption of the volcano, the local disaster relief department has activated an emergency response mechanism and set up three settlement points for the victims in a safe zone near the volcano.

  According to data, the Semeru volcano, located in East Java Province, Indonesia, is 3676 meters high and is the highest mountain on the island of Java.
