Eric Zemmour held his first campaign meeting this Sunday, five days after officially declaring that he was running for the Elysee.

The polemicist gave his very first candidate speech at the Villepinte convention center, near Paris.

Thousands of supporters made the trip.

"The great gathering finally begins today."

These are the very first words of Eric Zemmour as a candidate for the presidential election.

"If I win this election, it will not be another alternation, but the beginning of the reconquest of the most beautiful country in the world," he continued.

"France was to continue to quietly leave History and the French were to disappear silently on the land of their ancestors, but a small grain of sand seized the machine. No, this grain of sand is not me. This grain of sand is you! "

he told his supporters.

13,000 activists gathered

According to the organizers, 13,000 activists with many blue-white-red flags made the trip. At the very end of his speech, Eric Zemmour officially announced the name of his party: "Reconquest". In front of an overheated room with many young people, the polemicist wanted to show that he was now presidential. "After the time for observations came the time for the project," he said. Concrete and serious, he wanted to silence the critics: no, he is not racist, he, the little Berber Jew who came from the other side of the Mediterranean. No, he's not a misogynist, he whose mother taught him everything. Yes, at 63, he's getting into the race, and he's ready to take the helm of the country.
