In Säffle, there are several residents who are not afraid of the record-high electricity prices when they decorate for Christmas.
Göran Olsson, who has had Christmas lighting as a hobby for many years, expects a few thousand kroner more on the electricity bill this time.
- This is my hobby, so it's worth it, he says
"A few more lights"
Usually the bill is SEK 2,000 higher in December, due to all the extra decorations.
- Every year I say that now it will be enough, but it still ends up with a couple of more lamps in any case, says Göran Olsson.
When he signs a new electricity contract, he usually mentions the extra lighting during the Christmas period, in the hope of being able to get a better price - something that, however, has got the cold hand.
