05 December 2021 Fiorentina conquers the Dall'Ara Stadium and wins the Apennine derby. Maleh's header, Biraghi's free-kick and Vlahovic's penalty give the Tuscans 3 points that are worth fifth place in the standings at 27. Bologna remains at 24 and the goals from Barrow and Hickey are not enough.

With De Silvestri and Dijks on the outside it is a 5-man defense for Mihajlovic who, orphaned by the injured Arnautovic, throws Barrow and Sansone in attack, pulling Soriano back in the middle. Maleh in the three in midfield is the surprise move by Italian for the purple eleven where Gonzalez finds space from the first minute.

The match takes off in the final time. Viola passes with Youssef Maleh's first goal in Serie A, forgotten in the center of the area by the Bolognese defense and very good at heading Gonzalez's precise cross. It takes less than ten minutes for Bologna to equalize on Svanberg's millimeter throw for the flying conclusion of Barrow who sends under the crossbar and strikes Terracciano.

When they return to the field after the break, Fiorentina has an edge over and given them by a wild Nico Gonzalez. A descent by the South American provokes the free kick from the limit of the 2-1 guest: perfect the left over the barrier of Biraghi who goes down at the right moment and bags near the top corner. Skorupski can only pick up the ball from the net. Some blame for the goalkeeper of Bologna, there is instead the penalty of 3-1. A filter from Vlahovic is deflected by Hickey and becomes good for the usual Gonzalez, very quick to overtake the goalkeeper who lands him in the area. From the spot, Vlahovic is as icy as ever.

The race seems closed but Hickey reopens it with an apparently unrealistic shot which, however, mocked Terracciano, also deceived by a deviation from Odriozola.

Of nerves, Bologna attacked in the final, but Fiorentina defended themselves without suffering and took the result home.
