An official of the Russian Presidential Administration told NHK on the 4th that the US-Russia summit meeting between President Biden and President Putin is expected to be held online on the 7th of this month.

The U.S. government has increased its vigilance, saying that Russia is deploying large-scale military troops around the border of neighboring Ukraine, and called for relief of tensions at the foreign ministers' meeting on the 2nd of this month, but the Russian side has taken a strong stance. I haven't broken it.

In connection with this, the Washington Post, a leading U.S. newspaper, posted a satellite photo that it allegedly obtained on the 3rd, saying that Russian troops are gathering troops in four places around Ukraine.

According to an analysis by the US government, Russian troops could increase their troops to a maximum of 175,000 and attack Ukraine early next year (2022).

President Biden told reporters on the 3rd that he is "developing comprehensive and effective measures to make Mr Putin less likely to take action," and acknowledged that the talks with President Putin will be long. The focus is on how the talks can help ease military tensions over Ukraine.
