Depending on the country of departure, the test must be taken 24 or 48 hours prior to arrival.

An exception was made for citizens from the countries of the European Union who have completed a full course of vaccination.

Earlier, the UK authorities tightened the rules of entry due to the spread of the omicron strain.

Anyone arriving in the UK must have a PCR test and self-isolate until negative.
