04 December 2021Croatia have overtaken Serbia and qualify for the Davis Cup final where they will face the winner between Germany and Russia.

In the Slavic derby in Madrid the Serbs were not satisfied with the success of Novak Djokovic who beat Marin Cilic 6-4, 6-2 in singles, equalizing the victory of the surprising Borna Gojo.

The number 279 in the world, after the feat against Lorenzo Sonego in Turin, beat Dusan Lajovic in the first match in a comeback 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

As in the quarter-final against Italy, the very strong pair of doubles, Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic, was decisive for Croatia, who beat Djokovic and Filip Krajinovic 7-5, 6-1.
