Iranian TV reported - quoting security sources - that the explosion that occurred this evening, Saturday, in the skies of the city of Badrud, near the Natanz nuclear facility, was part of a military exercise for air defenses in this region.

Iranian television indicated that the air defenses launched a missile to test the speed of response to any possible attacks.

It is noteworthy that the Iranian media reported earlier that an explosion was heard as a result of Iranian air defenses targeting an unknown object in the region.

Iranian television quoted the commander of the Air Defense Center in the Natanz region as saying that the military exercise carried out by the air defenses was a routine procedure to test the speed of air defense systems in this region to respond to any expected attacks.

The Iranian official added that this exercise was carried out in coordination with the Air Defense Operations Command Center in the country, and all necessary measures were taken to carry out the operation safely, as he put it.

And Israel announced last Thursday that it might have to strike Iran, and indicated that it was preparing for that, as it began procedures to purchase new weapons.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that "there may be no escape from striking Iran, and we are preparing for this possibility, and the Ministerial Committee on Armaments approved the purchase of weapons and ammunition."
