Celebrates People of Determination on International Day

Expo 2020 Dubai celebrated the People of Determination on the occasion of their International Day, through key events and discussions to discuss issues of ensuring universal access, education, decent work, innovation and technology, and sports for people of determination.
The event was launched under the title "Forging an inclusive future for all", in coordination with the Ministry of Community Development.
It included talks and panel discussions, during which the participants exchanged the most prominent stories of success and excellence, and striving to create an accessible world for people of determination.
The event, which was held recently at the "Nexus" pavilion, witnessed the participation of leaders from governments, the business sector, artists and athletes, with the aim of highlighting the achievements of people of determination, and highlighting ways of cooperation between individuals and organizations to achieve inclusion.
The Minister of Community Development, Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid, said, "The event gives us the incentive and vision to explore opportunities and challenges in order to shape an inclusive future for all, and to introduce the accelerated efforts undertaken by the international community towards achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and to exchange ideas that will improve the quality of life." People of determination through inclusive education, decent work, accessibility, innovative technology, and other areas of culture, sports and entertainment.”
She stressed that "the UAE's successful experience in integrating, empowering and employing people of determination is exceptional by all standards, as it is governed by laws, legislation, initiatives and policies that integrate with international best practices, and embody the highest human and social norms and values inherited in this young country, which celebrates these days the fiftieth anniversary of the Union, documented Fifty years of continuous giving and investing in building people and capabilities, and preparing to welcome the next fifty years, God willing,” stressing the role of people of determination as active participants in the construction and sustainable development process.
For her part, Director of Sustainability Operations at Expo 2020 Dubai, Dina Story, said that the Expo 2020 team is diverse, comprehensive and dedicated to the task of delivering an exceptional Expo to the whole world, as People of Determination played an important role in the preparatory phase of the Expo, and during its convening.
